Oshiomhole to Okonjo-Iweala: Explain whereabouts of $4.1bn in written



The Governor of Edo State, Governor Adams Oshiomhole has challenged the former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to give a proper and formal report of what happened to $4.1 billion in her report.

The Governor also asked Mrs. Iweala to explain why she did not published simultaneously what was remitted to the Excess Crude Account during the period she published what was distributed.

According to Oshiomole, Iweala knows how to play round with statistics. He said, transparency requires that every minister must publish in details what is remitted to the Federation Account and what is distributed to whom on a monthly basis. It also requires that whatsoever a minister publishes, should go to the Federal Government, state governments and as well as local governments.

We are asking Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to give us written report of Federation Account and not a verbal report, Oshiomole added.

Following the victory of a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode at a Lagos High Court today, in which he was discharged and acquitted, the prosecutor, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has promised to review the judgement and respond to it appropriately.

The spokesperson of the commission expressed their shock over the court verdict. He said, we were shocked when received the judgement, but we are making effort to get a certified true copy of the judgment, as soon as we get that, we will review the judgement and make appropriate respond, EFCC added.

It would be recalled that Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode was freed today by a Lagos Federal High Court over alleged money laundering case filed against him by the EFCC since about seven years ago.

Fani-Kayode, had also changed his name as a way expressing his appreciation to God who gave him victory over the case.

Finally, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode has been freed from the charges filed against by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The former Minister of Aviation, was set free by a Lagos Federal High Court, holding that Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC could not prove the allegation against Fani-Kayode. The court thereby set the accused free.

Reacting to his victory at the court, Mr. Femi expressed his gratitude to the Judiciary for been honest in thier judgement and fro refusing to send an innocent man to jail.…FFK changes name to celebrate victory at court.

Nigeria’s security agents has been ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari to arrest his brother-in-law, Alhaji Musa Yola for allegedly taken N300 million from a businessman.

A reliable source revealed that, the suspect who is the immediate younger brother to Mrs. Buhari, allegedly collected the money from the businessman, promised him a political access to secure an oil block from President Buhari’s administration. When this was leaked to Mr President, he personally order the arrest of Yola and the duped businessman.

Buhari, however blast the businessman for stupidly gotten himself in that kind of dirty business, knowing fully well that, Mr. President would never participate in frauds. He ordered the State Security Services (SSS) agents to do a thorough investigation of the scam and ensure that his brother-in-law return the money to businessman.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Yola has refunded the money to the businessman, and there after; he was released on bail, SSS source revealed.

The body of former Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Prof Albert Ilemobade, has been found dead yesterday.

The former Vice-Chancellor was abducted over a week ago, source has revealed that he was later killed by his driver and guard, who hide his dead body in an isolated store outside the main building of his house.
The suspects later went a way with his car.

It will be recalled that Prof Albert, together with his driver and guard were declared missing last week, the family, friends and associates thought he was abducted. But the shocking reality came when the his decomposing remains was found in a store where cables are kept.

Meanwhile, Ogun State Police Command has arrested the suspects (identified as Yemi and Daniel) when they were trying to sell a SUV car belonging to late Ilemobade. When interrogated by the police, they (suspects), confessed that late Prof. Ilemobade was their boss and they murdered him and went away with his car.

Many people have lamented over the sudden death of the former Vice-Chancellor, they described him as an international scholar, who was know all over the world. He contributed tremendous to the development of Federal University of Technology, Akure during his two-time tenure.

Again, Barr. Festus Keyamo has re-echoed his call to probe, Petroleum Minister, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

It would be recalled that, Mr Keyamo has earlier wrote both the Red Chamber and Green Chamber to be begin investigations into the activities of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

However, President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday 26th of June dissolved NNPC Board, following this development from Mr. President, Keyamo therefore called for Mrs. Madueke’s probe.

According to him, there are a lot of issues calling for investigations into Alison-Madueke’s management of the ministry. He said, investigations had revealed that some NNPC officials collaborated with some local companies, to loot into country’s resources.

Mr. Festus said, he had stated out reasons in the petition written to National Assembly, especially on the issue regarding the crude oil swap programme. He argued that, Petroleum Minister’s letter to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to probe the deal was too late. When she can easily query the offenders since she had access to all the relevant documents. This shows that Diezani’s hands are not clean, so she need to be probe, Keyamo added.

A popular businessman (names withheld), suspected to be leader of an international drug trafficking organization, has fell into the net of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

The 37-year-old, was arrested following a discovery of three laboratories used for illicit manufacture of methamphetamine in his home town in Anambra State.

The suspect who recruits and sponsors couriers to China, Malaysia, Turkey and Italy is reportedly standing trial at the Federal High Court, Lagos, in respect of the seizures.

On the other hand, some couriers sponsored by him have also been arrested, with some of them in prison custody in China, Turkey and Malaysia.

Bad news for the thieves behind fuel subsidy as the federal government sets to begin probe.
The FG, lead by President Muhammadu Buhari, would soon begin a fresh investigation on petroleum products marketers, who have abused the subsidy scheme.

A reliable source reveals that have concluded to form an alliance to fight back and resist the investigation. However, they have been warned to desist from such move, else, such marketers are at the risk of losing their licences.

More so, Mr. Imafidon Osarenkhoe calls on federal government to properly investigate the subsidy thieves in order to address the downstream problems in the petroleum sector.

Mr. Osarenkhoe there by urge the federal government to deeply investigate the sector and come with thieves who have exploiting the scheme, to serve as a disincentive to others who might have been nursing such were abuse process in mind.
